At Quail Ridge Books and Music last night, Weird Al Yankovic made an appearance. I got his book My New Teacher and Me. I got it signed along with a record "Dare To Be Stupid". He said i was "old school" because I have a turntable in my room.

Popeye by Roger Langridge and Bruce Ozella
The IDW remake of Popeye is just as good as the original. It is funny, cool, and goofy. It has great art and words. Even cooler? The cover is based on Action Comics #1 Superman cover.
Issue #1 of Popeye has a great plot, the land of Jeeps. Who can top that? It is a completely humorous comic. If you know what's good for you, you will get Popeye numbers 1,2 & 3. And 4, out now!

Adventure Time #5 by Ryan North and Mike Holmes
Cover by Chris Houghton
Adventure Time is a comic that is based on a Cartoon Network show. Finn is a silly kid, and Jake is a magical dog. And there is a little computer that is Finn and Jake's buddy. His name is BMO.
In this issue BMO makes a cup cake and Finn and Jake fight over it. So BMO makes them run a race to win it.
I think that the artist and writer did great. It's funny. I really like the creepy Finn and Jake robots that BMO made.
I got my copy signed by the regular artists, Shelli & Braden, even though they didn't draw this one. Shelli drew a picture of Jake inside, probably because they didn't draw the comic this time.

Darth Vader and Son by Jeffrey Brown
I met Jeffrey Brown at Heroes Con in Charlotte last month and the book was sold out. I had to order it online. It is an amazing book. My little sister loves it too. Mostly when I read it to her.

Team Cul de Sac
Hi, this is Raymond Jarrell and I just got in the "Team Cul de Sac: Cartoonists Draw The Line At Parkinson's" book. All of the money made from selling the book will go to Parkinson's research charities. My Dad got in the book too and our art is on the same page. All the artwork got put in an auction and people bid on it. That money will go to charity too.
Cul de Sac is a comic strip that runs in the newspaper every day drawn by Richard Thompson who has Parkinson's. I also read it online at Go Comics. What I like about the comic strip is that the preschoolers use goofy words like static elastricity. A lot of little kids and some times even adults make those kinds of mistakes. I did that one time with the word exclusive...I said suplusive. Also I like how super sketchy Richard's drawings are. He gets the emotions right on all the kids faces. Like when a character is surprised or excited he makes their eyes HUGE!
